Our nature reserve office with its staff

Just like national parks and biosphere reserves, natural reserves belong to what is
called major conservation areas. Contrary to national parks, however, in which nature
largely unaffected by humans is protected, nature reserves intend to maintain the
man-made cultural landscape, promote extensive and traditional forms of land use
and promote its use through nature-compatible recreation and tourism by
constructing and maintaining hiking and biking trails and cross-country ski trails.

The office of the Naturpark Fichtelgebirge e.V. is located in the Landratsamt (district
administration) Wunsiedel im Fichtelgebirge in Wunsiedel.
